Input needed. 1000 whp build
I'm currently building a s10 with a ls2 and t56 with Borg Warner s475 looking to make a 1000 whp so I've decided that the ls2 needs to go. Should I go 6.0 iron or lsx. Warhawk isn't a option without a serious sponsorship. And I have no sponsors lol. I'd like to think a 408 iron with e95 and 20Psi will handle my goal but I'd like to know yalls input. My current idea is sell the ls2 buy a iron block a dragon slayer 4 inch crank callies rods and wiseco pistons. With a set of ls3 heads. I already have arp everything and a gt9 cam and ctsvr lifters. And a c5r timing set. Just don't want to use the aluminum if it won't handle it

i preach the same thing. but i never do it..lol i would love to buy a lsx block.. just need someone to buy my ls2 long block to justify me spending that much for a bare block.. the erl is a nice piece but the price coupled with the price of 6 bolt heads scares the living **** out of me. i want this thing running and tuned and ready in oct at the lastest.

They've been doing it for years with import blocks, just seems to be getting more popular now with domestics. Ohio boyz have been getting it done with those aluminum blocks for quite some time.
You shouldn't really have a problem either with 800-1000rwhp with an aluminum block with 4 bolt heads, just safer IMO to do it with 6 bolt. I wouldn't want to run stock casting heads at those levels, some type of aftermarket head like TFS or AFR would be better suited with the thicker deck.
