Default loud drivetrain thump

Loud thump from drivetrain when rolling over small cracks in cement surfaces but doesn't happen when riding on blacktop surfaces unless i hit bumps where bridges connect. Thunder racing checked under the car and could not find anything when i was out of town. Any guesses guys, got worse last night , need help please, sounds like someone is hitting the floorboard with large rocks underneath. Car is 2000 firehawk 6 speed.

There is a tool you might be able to borrow or rent from an auto parts store that borrows them called the "Chassis Ear". It is a set of six microphones, a switch box, and headphones. You clip the microphones to suspect points, then drive around while listening with the headphones. You can move the microphones around to zero in on the source of the noise. Be aware that many mechanics have never seen or even heard of this tool. Suspension and alignment mechanics use it to find rattles, squeaks, and other noises.

^^ wow didn't know they had those. I was going to recommend you have someone drive and you sit in the back or passenger seat and listen with a stethoscope.

Blown shock and then the axle tube hitting the bump stop, or where the bump stop once was? If something was making physical contact, I'd think that would be evident by looking for the signs of contact.

The only banging I've ever experienced in my car was due to a broken trans mount (a few times).

Used that tool in high school. It's pretty cool. Lol it hurts your ears if one of the mic's fall off n you drag it. Lol

The rubber mounting pads for the front shocks were bad on my car and sounded like this.
