Default My local Chevy house ???

So I'm having a issue with my 2002 Z28 Camaro I was leaning towards the MAF sensor but was not sure but I definitely know I have some kind of electrical issue!! Just to be sure I brought it down to my local Chevy house so they could give me piece of mind and so I was not throwing money at the wrong problem. After a week of having the car the tech calls and says I think you have a problem with your MAF but if that does not work it is something else.....then they wanted to charge me 500 dollars for the part and to install it (ridiculous)!!!! I replaced it with a brand new part for a hundred dollars and it still did not fix the problem..... WTF....

Did you replace it with a brand new correct GM part number?

if you need help troubleshooting, take a video of the car (or multiple videos cold, hot, start up, etc) then post them in this thread with a detailed description of what the car is doing exactly.

On my programmer the only code is the 02 sensor. The tech at the Chevy house said MAF codes. I can start my car in the driveway and the car runs great no problems. The minute I get on the road and take off I get about 4 houses away and everything dies. Then the car will crank but will not start until I clear all DTC's even though none are showing. I have an 02 Z28 I just recently rebuilt the motor. All sensors are new!! I will post video up tomorrow.

are the O2 sensors new as well? both sets? do you have aftermarket exhaust or is the car all stock? what you are describing sounds more like an electrical gremlin than a MAF.... Check the wiring harnes up near the exhaust manifolds and see if the harness got hot or is stuck on the exhaust...

So the answer was the MAP sensor! During the installation of the wiring harness the two wires in the MAP sensor come undone and got swapped when they got put back in. So the MAP voltage signal to the ECM was different from what the other sensors were telling it so the ECM would go into safe mode and shut the car down. Swapped wires got a tune runs great!!!

I was about to say MAP sensor. Glad it worked for you.
