Default Car will not start (vats nightmare)

I tried to bypass my vats under the column, my key pellet reads 7.4 ohms and i mocked up some resistors to 7.46 ohms and.put one in the purple wire and one in yellow still no start..

What the car is doing-- turn key on everything comes on furl pump guages lights ect.. turn the key to ignite and guages shutoff does not crank dead.silence not even a.click. Battery is 11.7 volts and holds a load test, starter is good so is selenoid, all fuses ( checked with ohm meter and relays are good). It all leads to my vats.. security light was on since i bought the car in 08 didnt bother me car started fine for 30,000 miles that i drove it but now its doing this ..

What do.i need to try suggestions? I would like to delete vats completly its mostly a strip car now.

I am no expert, but I had a similar problem with my 90'transmission model bird. All the research I did said vats only disabled the injectors after a run status was detected. Car would still crank briefly. Then new key and ignition and fixed. It would probably help the experts to know you year and exact car.

Yea the vats has it where it will tell the pcm to turn off fuel but the tdm (theft deterant module) will kill the cranking circuit. My cranking circuit is dead due to my vats and the bypass did not fix. I just want to delete system as a whole theres gotta be some out there who has done this

Though about the same thing. The reason I asked about year and vehicle, is I believe it can be tuned out on OBDII.

1. pop ur glove box out
2. look behind glove box
3. locate bcm mounted inside dash
4. CUT and ground yellow wire pin #43 on bcm harness

Did you use 1/2 watt resistors? I had a passkey issue, the contacts inside ignition cylinder broke and the key could not be read. I measured the resistance with my DMM and bought several resistors in that range. The only one that worked for me was the 1/2 watt resistors.

In for similar issue, mine won't start if you let the fuel pump prime then try to start, have to crank the key to start immediately in order for it to start, annoying!!

Let us know if grounding the yellow wire on BCM works out

Unfortunatly im gonna stop rigging up my wiring and take it to a friend that works at the dealership and get it all working properly for future purposes of selling the car. Hard to tell a customer you deleted the security and makes them think the whole car is rigged up and lose a sell.

If VATS hasn't worked since you bought it and the car started fine before with the SECURITY light on, it's not VATS. You may just have a bad starter switch.

I had this EXACT SAME issue.

My aftermarket headers burned through my starter wire shielding and was shorting out. I had to disconnect the leads, pull the wire up into the engine bay and splice new wire in. reconnect... DONE!

Never an issue after.

Im definately going to try this. I lost my key fob and cant get the damn car out of security mode. I have to jumper the start relay undr the hood to get it started. I linked a friends FOB to my BCM and it started right up. I want VATS gone
