Alarms and kill switches rarely work. What works best is putting it in a garage or behind a gate, anything other than that is easy access.
Most likely that swap/engine found its way into a Silverado/Sierra.

Ture, and from what I here onstar doesn't help because it's so easy to access and pull off the module. Have read about a lot of people coming out to find the truck gone and the onstar module laying on the floor..

Yes, but I wouldn't spend money on Lojack. Compustar is a much more appealing device.
www.compustar.com
Keep the factory fob in the center console, and use their key fob. Over 1/4 mile radius. And it's a 2 way system so you get active feedback as to whether the car started, doors are locked, etc.
Check out the DRONE MOBILE system. You can do a live track on the vehicle, set curfews, etc, start notifications, etc.
Also, check out the RPS feature. You can tap morse code onto the shock sensor to unlock the car if you ever lock yourself out.

For cops to find your car with lojack, they have to have the lojack hardware in their cars which fewer and fewer are installing because they hardly use them.
There are some pet type tracking products that have a lower monthy fee and are really a GPS only service. You could potentially hardwire one of those somewhere under or behind the dash.

Well a garage is only so safe! If you haven't done the emergency cable mod to your garage door, a thief will take it right out of there as well! I stuck a fat bolt in my release mechanism. I must live in a bad part of town or something. I knew about this trick back in the day.

Yeah, that's a pretty awesome piece.
"Steal my car... I DARE YOU!"
"How did you know where I hid it?"
""The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon you."
I just thought it was a cold-blooded thing to say to a ************ before I popped a cap in his ***.
