Default Question for you Austin guys....

Long story short.......

it was on the news that the air quality in San Antonio will come under scrutiny in the very near future and may start having exhaust sniffer testing.

My question to you Austin guys is...... Can you still have full length headers with high flow cats on your car and still pass emissions testing ?

iirc they only do the sniffer test on pre ODB-2 cars. ODB-2+ cars just get a computer check

Yeah, they plug in a computer to the OBD port and make sure that the emissions crap is working. You're allowed two "not ready" monitors up to 01, and one "not ready" after that.

Unless it's a friendly place, they will also do a visual check, but you shouldn't have an issue if it has cats.

That's "supposed" to be checked visually, but a lot of shops pencil whip that part. It's hit and miss.

Hardly any shop will look under a vette unless it's an oil change place with a pit. Just make sure your ECU passes all the emissions tests in HP Tuners and the rear o2s aren't throwing codes.

Should be fine here as long as your not throwing codes. Doubt anyone will attempt to look for cat's unless they're a ****

From what I was told.l..high flow cats are not an issue. I have a 240sx with stock LS1 that I have to throw cats on just to play it safe.
