Sorry, but we get taxed enough. Taxed when we make money, then taxed when we spend the money that we already got taxed on, then get taxed on our property (that was paid for with money that was already taxed), taxed if our money makes us any money, and then we have inflation to deal with. Sorry, but it's ridiculous. Our "government" has gotten way to comfortable doing whatever they want without asking and paying themselves whatever they want.
This is my primary complaint about our "freedom" in America. Taxing is to pieces.

No one specific. Just the people that come off trying to be better than others with obeying the laws or whatever they want to preach about.

I'm no liberal and I agree that we pay too much in taxes and I don't think I'm better than you or preaching to you. I've seen you respond to threads. When you give someone advice in a thread do you think you're better than they are, or are you preaching at them?

My point was that you shouldn't go off on the poor customer service people at Summit because the government requires them to comply with a stupid law.

A buddy of mine said that summit is setting up or already has a place in San antonio. I haven't heard anything else about it or seen it yet though. It would be cool though...its like a Golden Corral for car guys....felt like I was in a grown ups toys r us.

What kills Jegs for me, is the user interface is 10 years behind Summit. Searching for basic stuff is a pain compared to Summits site, hence why I used them.

If they built a store in San Antonio, I would shop there no problem but I haven't heard anything about it either.

As for comments and how I personally feel about them. Sometimes its just the way something is said. This goes for all threads. Giving advise is fine and that's what all of this is about. But sometimes, its the way it comes across. And some of that is just the way its read by the reader and isn't really the way it was meant. So taking it out of context. Its all good.

I just called Summit Racing Equipment. They're about to build a store front in TX. But the location hasn't determined yet. They're planning to announcement of all the details at the end of the month. The spokesperson also said all TX customers should receive an email covering all the details in the coming weeks. Only time will tell.

I would wager that summit ships more to the Houston area. Than all the other cities of Texas. DFW prolly second highest volume of shipments.
It would be cost effective to be centered in Texas. But Houston would prolly be the wisest place to open the shop. If its a store front. There will definitely be alot of walk in sales over any other place in TX.
If it was a ship out only place I guess a central location would make more sense. The extra tax doesn't really bother me. Summit ships fast AF even from wherever. It gets to my house within 3-4 days.

I would assume they would build in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The economy is doing better than the Greater Houston area and they have more undeveloped land for lower cost, but I wish they would build it around Houston.

If it was a ship out only warehouse it would make more sense to put it in Louisiana just across the state line. Many times we buy from an out of state vendor and the simply have it drop shipped from a Texas store. Texas is one of, if not the richest state in the U.S. in great part because of sales tax. They are going to try to sew up every leak that comes about. Some may bitch about it but I would rather that than a state income tax.

And it sucks its going to Dallas. I was hoping for San Antonio, but oh well. JEGS it is for a while longer. I just wish they would update their online store and make searching easier.

Nope. Didn't miss it. There are other companies out of state who are willing to price match a "delivered to your front door" price. It's amazing what a phone call or email requesting price matching can do.

Yep, I buy from Jegs, Summit Speedway, day Motorsports, Smileys and many others. A lot of the smaller companies have been charging tax for a long time, they're shipping is higher and typically the cost of the product is higher because they are smaller. So I shy away from those.

Talk about a vague press release. How about mentioning at least a freaking city?
