it is running over 250 degrees.... i dont think the stat was the prob! you can also manipulate the fans by turning the heater on or ac on..... no need to reprogram unless you dont want to turn the ac/heater on to kick the fans on at 185 on... 170 off..... iirc...

so any ideas? waterpump is workin... atleast my idle has not changed... oil runs lower than what i recall.... it drops under 40 on the gauge unless at vacuum or on the gas. what else could it be...

and yeah... I have coolant!

Sounds like you still have air in the cooling system.

This is exactly whats wrong. LS1's are very bad about the air pockets..heres my method if this dosent work its not an air pocket.....
-First let it cool, then loosen the passanger side coolant passage (the leftside on the coolant tube that runs inbetween the heads.) open the coolant cap (pressure cap not overflow) add Coolant 50/50 while the passenger side passage is open, add coolant untill you only see coolant come out of the passage, not air...when this is done tighten and reinstall radiator cap...start car and wait..

cam install was a few months ago... have not done anything to the cooling system lately. Dont know why it would get air in it as of the last few months.

Sure it's actually getting hot? Have you used a IR Heat gun?

I had a bad temp sensor in my 99 ws6 that drove me nuts.

I figured you would have the notorious water slosh sound in the dash if an air pocket was present. Just my .02

If that doesn't work, take off the radiator cap and look inside the radiator why it's running and see if you see air bubbles (head gasket).

Keep letting it get to 240-260 and you will have much more problems than you do now
