"Live Your Dreams" by Les Brown
anything by Les Brown or Ed Foreman will be really great
Joel Osteen has some good books out also.
"Talk to Win" by Caroline Glass is a good one
"How Full is Your Bucket" by Tom Rath was the last book i read, it deals with the positive; beneficial lifestyle contributions that living life with a positive attitude can give. GREAT BOOK i've read about 8 since the start of this semester and they've all been great.
the Les Brown books are the best i've ever read.

If you're into Fantasy novels and haven't read the series already, R.A. Salvatore's Legend of Drizzt series is a chronilogical re-release of all the Drizzt novels. I have yet to find an author who writes action as well as Salvatore.

You guys gotta check out Alan Folsom's book "The Day After Tomorrow" (absolutly no relation to the stupid disaster flick last summer). A long book but definetly worth it. Also check out "Angels and Demons". It is by the same author of the "Davinci Code"but, everbody who I've talked enjoyed it even more than the "Davinci Code" .

this is how i base my reading style. I'll usually go into to Barnes & Noble and look at inpirational books. I've actually never picked up the Joel Osteen books, read some of his dads stuff but thats about it. Andy Andrews is a great person to listen to and read. I'm a strong christian, but i don't always veer towards christian books to get insight into my life. So just find something you'll like.

Just some advice, I had to read a clockwork orange for school, and I almost quit because of all the wierd language, but if you get past the first 30 or so pages, its a good book. A couple other good books are Slaughterhouse 5, by Kurt Vonnegut, I also heared that breakfeast of champions by Vonnegut was also good. I'm reading Fight Club right now, and so far, the book is pretty good. Also, if you played the campaigns on Halo and enjoyed those, there are some books are are actually really good that tell the back story, the story of halo 1, and what happens between halo 1, and halo 2. Those were surprisingly good, and really easy to read. Hope that may help.

**edit-found, interesting...i might have to pick it up. The book i'm reading about now is called "Pop goes Religion" more of an info book rather than an uplifting one.

I would say exactly the opposite. I read fiction novels to escape reality for a while. While knowing how to dismember an orc with a pair of scimitars might not have any real world applications, it sure is a helluva lot more fun than having some guy drone on and on about how to be a better person/save money/find God/get organized.
i try to turn unproductive time into productive time. fiction novels may be more fun to read but they arnt productive so i try and ditch them and read somthing i can use or get somthign from
