Headlamp motors SUCK!?!
Man it took me ALLLLLL f*ckin day to change the motor(first time). It was a big pain in the ***, and hope to never do it again. I was feeling good installing everything back together and there is a plastic lil retainer clip/bushing on the head lamp that connects to the motor and allows it to swivel up and down and I.....broke it. So I had to jerry rig it with a "hair pin" from oreilleys. Long story short it sucked and if yall are anticipating a head lamp motor install my advice is to just sssslllllooooowwwww down and take ur time(i didnt).
P.S.-Good NEWS!!!!! Im getting a window motor soon and have to install that aswell!!!
I honestly think GM spends more time designing parts so that u CAN NOT do it urself and have to go to the dealership then designing them to last forever.
Its a matter of saving pennies and dimes....oh well...

yeah they suck, about a year ago some guy at the dealership told me i could sell the actual lamp units for some rediculously high price on ebay, becuase GM doesnt make the replacements (at that time, not sure if they do now)
but yeah they suck, havent had any problems with mine yet, but i wont hold my breath.

Tell me about it, my SS has 44k miles with a dead ac comp and window motor, I am hoping these are the only two little things I have to deal with, my GT's ac comp lasted 110k and the window motors still roll up 10x faster with 145k than the SS's even when the SS's were working fine. This BS is taking away from my mod money!!!

Typical wear and tear issues with a F-body, all this stuff isnt built any better on the 98+ than it was on the 93-97, expect window motors, wiper controls, ignition switches, head lamp motors, a/c compresors all to fail. My a/c comp died at about 7 years with under 50K, seems more like age than any thing, thats the big thing about it. Cars get old and your going to have maintenance issues. Most my buddies cars a/c are starting to go, all 99-00 cars, all of its typical stuff. Also, those coil packs last a while, but those to will go, any F-body you drive regularly that is 6+ years old, is going to nickel and dime you just like any other GM product. The motors are great, reason why we put up with this kinda stuff, other wise just another getting old GM product.
