Buying Another Car.. Title Question?

Default Buying Another Car.. Title Question?

Well Im gonna be buying a 98 neon cheap here tomorrow and was wondering its showing a lien from 2001.. and its been owned by a dealership and another guy since (car only has 90k on it to clean as heck) the guy im buying it from buys cars from soliders going oversea's fixes them and gets a mech lien or whatever put on them and sells them.. intrested how all this will work i called the credit union that put a lien on it and they said we cant give any info even know the guy doesnt own the car anymore..

As long as the loan officer signed off on the release of lien it is transferrable.

how do we see that.. all I have is the carfax data and such.. is there anyone i can call im getting the car for a few hundred what someone would pay for it going to the junk yard

Working for a bank I can tell you that if a financial insitution has the title they will tell you tough **** that you bought the vehicle and not give you the title. Be sure that there are no outstanding judgements dealing with that vehicle. PM me and I can try and check for you.

Unless he has a title that is one car I would walk away from. If he has the title the release of lien is on the bottom front corner along with a date. If he does not have a title DO NOT PURCHASE THE CAR.
