Default Newbie in Ft Worth needs help

I'm new to the LS1 world and to this forum. Just bought a 2000 SS with a few mods; had an 83 Z28 with a 454 BB before this. Wondering if I could get someone in the Fort Worth area to pm or call me me with some assistance on getting the state inspection; supposedly my tint is too dark. Thanks. Edit: The tint is the least of my worries on the inspection, just though I'd add some clarification. Forgot to post my #: 361-726-1959.

Its more of the mods than the tint: MAC mids, duals, cam, LS6 intake, no EGR. Found someone to help me out, somehow he was willing work around all that for the emmisions, but had an issue with the tint...odd. It is a risky subject, I do understand that. Edit: The tint is 20% I believe. Don't know what the legal tint is.

your mods should be no issue as long as you arent throwing an SES light.

what codes are you throwing? I'm sure no egr is lighting up just find someone with hptuners or ls1edit and have them deleted. Most performance shops have these tuners and will do it for you.

Dont have any lights coming on, the car has been tuned and dynod by the previous owner. I dont have any cats though. The exhaust is the MAC mids, custom X, and duals out to rear with no muffler. I do plan on changing it, but for now I have nothing to throw on for the inspection. Like I said, I am new to the LS1 and dont know much about the EGR or Smog systems on these cars; never had to worry about it on my big block and this is the first time Ive lived in an emmisions county. I thought all this was necessary for the emmisions regulations.

it is all 'necessary', but almost no shops visually check for the presence of the emissions stuff. as long as your car passes the computer test, you should be fine... unless you have an absurdly loud exhaust and camming like crazy, then they might be forced to care.

where in FW are you? i know of a shop in mansfield that gives hastle-free inspections.

Im in west Fort Worth, just off of I-30. I'm willing to drive where I need to for a good inspection. The car is pretty loud.
