How bad am I F*ed for reckless driving?
I was typing a long detailed story of what happened but the I rememebered all of the cases of the cops actually reading what people wrote online and using it against them in court. So this is what I have:
115 in a 65 - Reckless Driving Class B Misdemeanor and I already spent 24 hours in the downtown jail
I have a completely clean traffic and criminal record and I'm a 21 year old student. How bad do you think the judge is going to stick it to me?
This was stolen from another post:
Just wondering if anyone has similar experiences before I find out for myself on Friday.

Your lucky the cop didn't take you to jail, but your not out of the woods yet.
State of Texas:
Sec. 545.401. Reckless Driving; Offense.
(a) A person commits an offense if the person drives a vehicle in wilful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property.
(b) An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by:
(1) a fine not to exceed $200;
(2) confinement in county jail for not more than 30 days; or
(3) both the fine and the confinement.
(c) Notwithstanding Section 542.001, this section applies to:
(1) a private access way or parking area provided for a client or patron by a business, other than a private residential property or the property of a garage or parking lot for which a charge is made for the storing or parking of motor vehicles; and
(2) a highway or other public place.
(d) Notwithstanding Section 542.004, this section applies to a person, a team, or motor vehicles and other equipment engaged in work on a highway surface.

Had one of those down in Port Aransas this past spring break. Me and my friend in his Corvette got busted doin' donuts out on the beach. All I got stuck with was a $190 fine and it didn't go on my record because I took care of it within 3 weeks.

When your doing 145 and a police unit is stationary, how do you guys not let your head start get you at least five blocks before he can actually get near 100 to even get within a good view of you? There's all kinds of options to duck, u turn etc, even though it's not a smart move because of the consequences.

i think if i were going 145 i wouldnt slow down.. id but a couple exits on him, get off, turn off my lights, and take the back roads home.
but yeah, i almost went to jail for wreckless driving. but the cop let me go with a verbal warning. nice guy he was.

Last week someone localy tried to run from the cops on a bike. Don't know exactly what kind it was, but I do know it was a 600. The idiot went from the highway into a city. He tried to make a 25mph turn goin' like 90mph and lost it, got busted and went to jail. If it was me, I would have stayed on the highway and lost 'em, then I would have called someone with a truck so I could load up my bike and then go back home.

I'm sort of dealing with this myself at the moment... I got clocked at 120ish but the ticket itself said 100 in a 65 going down 45
but, my problem is this. I tried rescheduling a court date a week before, the day of, and a week after the actual court date on the ticket, they told me each time they had no record... I blew it off thinking maybe it got thrown out. a year and a half later, I find out I've got a warrant in Lamarque county... called the court, and apparently the ticket was filed 3 weeks after my court date.
anyone know a good lawyer in that area?

Dukes of Hazzard style eh? In that case, they just look for your cloud of dust kicking up behind you.

got mine reduced to a speeding (700$ fine). with a good good lawyer (hefty fee also). mine was 87 in a 25 (kinda hard for an attorney talk my way out of why i was goin so fast in a 25). they are more leanient if you get in trouble on some sort of highway, easier for the attorney/lawyer.
