That's true. I still used an air cooled torch. There have been a few times doing al that I wish I had a water cooled torch, but I get by for now.

I learned on a synchrowave in school, I have an HTP invertig 201 now. Works great, small, light, not too expensive. I have a few friends using them daily with no problems at all. I got it because the comparably priced millers (at the time) didn't have nearly as many features or did aluminum.

water-cooled is the only way to go. the dry rig torches are monstrous. they work, but you WILL find a joint you can't get to without a smaller torch, so the water cooled is the only way to go.

Finally took the plunge
I have been using a MIG for the last 15 years. I finally took the plunge and decided to try a relatively new TIG unit. Chinese assembled and the simple parts are Chinese, but the power modules are high end, Siemens and the chips are high end too. It's comparable to the Miller Dynasty 200. Comes with the foot pedal, torch, regulator and everything else other than the consumables. 250amps at 35%DC, 60amps plasma cutter and has all the good controls except spot timer.
I will do a writeup on it after I get it set up.
