Best Tig Welder?

A few weeks ago I was at school getting some certs for a new job. I got to screw around on a Miller Aerowave....Holy *****! I guess it was designed and built for Boeing originally, it's a hybrid inverter/transformer machine. They don't make it anymore, and it cost almost 10k new. It's got some crazy "ghost wave" features for aluminum that I didn't get into too much, but the power was so smooth and consistent. One cool bit that I'd never seen before was that it wouldn't let you arc if you didn't have gas.
Kinda an outta reach machine, but it sure is cool to mess around with something like that when you get the chance!

Yep, an aerowave is about the best tig machine ever made... almost got my hands on one about 2 years ago on ebay.....

You definitley get what you pay for, I own a maxstar 150 Stl. I don't like I don't weld aluminum BUT..I love the compactness and versatility of the machine. 230v or 120v

Ya its been 5 years, lets bring this back. I want to get a tig and put together a turbo kit maybe a roll cage. Whats new? Found a Miller diversion 180 on craigslist for 1200, would that do for a hobby guy like myself?

People are buying them up like crazy because the word is getting out about how good they are. Lots of places are out of stock, presumably because of a strike somewhere (shipping dock maybe, I don't think it's the factory).

I have had my Everlast PowerPro 256 Plasma/Stick/TIG machine since 2010 and it's still going strong, other than an occasional sticky argon solenoid. I use the hell out of it. No regrets buying it whatsoever.
My engineer/friend bought the Chinese Eastwood machine and although it's got less features than mine, he's able to work magic with it. He's not welded more than I have but has a better knack for it apparently.
Here's one of his welds on a turbo header that he built for us:
