Default 96' Camaro Z28 383 LT1 Six Speed

Year: 1996
Make: Chevrolet
Model: Camaro
Price: $15000
Mileage: 53000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): IN
Color: Red
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

$15,000

I am listing my 96' Camaro Z28 for sale due to having too many toys. I recently bought a '15 Challenger Scat Pack and either need to sell my Camaro or my SRT4. Whichever I sell first will be the one that goes. The car has 53k miles on it. It is extremely clean and is garage kept. There is not ONE SINGLE DENT on the entire car. Car runs flawless and has all the bugs worked out. Car was tuned by Solomon last fall. I don't think I have seen too many f bodies with original paint as clean as mine. LS1's included. Not looking for any trades just money.

The Bad:
-Car has a rebuilt title. Car was rear ended when it had 11k on it and fixed. Have pictures of it before it was fixed. Basically pushed the right rear of the bumper into the spare tire.

-Cruise control stopped working

Mod List: Est. 4k miles on the motor since build.

-Golen 383 LT1 shortblock with 11.5:1 compression
-Scat steel 4.00 stroke crank
-Eagle 5.75 rods
-Mahle flattop friction coated pistons
-Crane chromoly pushrods
-Patriot Extreme dual valve springs
-Comp High Tech stainless 1.7 rockers
-Comp 230/236 .510/.520 with 1.5 rockers 114LSA
-Lingenfelter ported heads with 2.02/1.60 valves
-Port matched intake
-Racetronix 42lb injectors
-Walbro 255 pump
-BBK 58mm throttle body
-SLP lid setup
-Delphi 85mm Maf
-Chris1313 ram air
-Kooks 1 7/8's Headers
-Kooks True Dual Exhaust
-Tuned by Solomon "E85"
-RPM built T56 transmission
-Hurst STS
-Spec stage2 clutch
-Moser 9' rear end with 4.30 gears
-Aluminum drive shaft with 1350 series yoke
-Adjustable panhard bar
-Billet Specialties R/T series wheels 17x7 front 15x10 rear

Here is thread on the car. There are more pictures in there.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-m...l#post17795591

I am sure there are things that I missed. Car is fully built obviously. Has all the A/C components other than the condenser due to the Chris1313 ram air. I still have it and can easily be hooked back up. The car could easily be sprayed with a 200 shot to make some serious power.

A few videos for reference:

Idle video when I still had the cutout on the car with pacesetter y pipe and electric cutout.

Idle Video after Kooks headers and exhaust install.

Acceleration video. Has not been on the dyno but it is making some good power. I raced a foxbody with a built 302 and a on3 t70 turbo setup. He is a friend of mine. We were neck and neck with him on 11psi from 30-130. This was before the lid, tune, header and exhaust change. Thanks for looking. As of August of 2015 the car now has 4.30 gears and is running on E85!

very imressive car. lt1s are a really good motor(better than any factory 302 block). a 200 shot would be the shizzle on tap too...id own a lt1 if it was the right buy

Nice car....I would have honestly said a month ago that you were crazy to think you would get $15000 out of an LT1 based Camaro platform but within the recent months I have seen 2 sell for similar price ranges (although note one was an LS swap).

It has nothing against your car unfortunately LT cars just don't hold a lot of market value. Understood it is not just the basic LT car with all you have done I was more so just speaking in general.

Please update the thread with the selling price if it does end up going if you don't mind. As I use that kind of data to trend and provide advice.

I completely know what you are saying and I will surely list what it sells for if it does. That helps keep the market up to date and future sellers can be informed on what they could possibly get for the right car to the right buyer. The price is OBO. I will change my listing around. Not that I will budge a whole lot, but money talks.

Also, anyone thinking about buying the car don't let the LT1 pcm deter you. Solomon is a great tuner and email tuned this car to a t. The startup up video of this car was in the winter when it hadn't been run. If you watch the video I go to rev the car and it bogs a little because it was still cold. Car fires on the first crank everytime. Solomon has nitrous on his 383 and could easily put a tune on this car with nitrous if need be.

I also put loctite on the rotor screws of the optispark when the motor went in and used permatex on the entire perimeter of the unit it self.

It's the only type when not planning on messing with the optispark for years to come..Even though the 6 years I have owned the car I have not had one problem with it.

Daily Bump. RPM built six speed that is so nice, you don't need to power shift. Just watch the acceleration video. that is letting all the way out of the throttle between shifts.

Nice car. Is that the LT1 sunoco-style hood? I've always wanted one for mine but never saw pics of them out there that showed off its looks.

Yup. VFN Sunoco. Not the wide. Just the regular. If you run a LS1 lid setup they will trim the hood to help fitment too. Have to specify obviously.

Clean LTx man, clean. But you're better off parting it out. Rebuilt title? Kiss of death for a lot people and kills the value immensely. You've got that much in parts regarding the asking price and I know it's OBO but still, rebuilt title is what's killing it. Nice car, I'd keep and rape the **** out of it.

Yea if I put a for sale sign in the back window I would have better luck. I get a thumbs up and nod almost every time I drive the car. Had a guy follow me 5 miles until I got to my destination just to talk about the car. No need to sell other than too many toys.

One can never have too many toys. But I understand.
