Default need to change my lifters need help choosing heads might aswell

ok guys i need some help choosing some nice budget heads i have a slight taping noise coming from my driver side head or around that area.when i start the car it doesnt make the noise and in the morning i can barely hear it but when it gets to running temps it starts taping/ticking very slightly starts at 2200 rpm and increases with rpm slightly barely noticeable but its driving me crazy.
i think it might be a lifter but i dont want to remove the heads just for a lifter so might aswell get new heads right lol.

i already got my exhaust welded so theres no exhaust leaks
i already changed my pushrods went with trickflows stock lenght 7.4s
changed the oil
the valve springs are fine
so what else can this noise be

Trickflows are expensive as hell.

I would go with some ported 243s.

^^^My thoughts exactly.

Try that first man.

And if the heads have to come off, I would try to find some take of 243's and take them to WCCH and get them CNC ported.

yeah i tried that already they were tight.i was thinking about just getting some heads and have wcch do them since i heard alot of good things from then but i woudnt know what to ask for in a port job thats why i was thinking of buying the trickflows and be done with it.

my future plans for the car is to make it a built 347 with a nice set of heads and cam nothing too crazy i just want it to be reliable and a really fun daily driver since i sold my gixer and formy.

yeah ur probably right 243s would be more than enough for a nice set up

HAHA i was about to say the same thing, you beat me to it, this Kinda reminds me of the time he posted a thread asking how to solder wiring and then a week later he was offering to build custom harnesses. Sorry Jason nothing against you but i find that funny as hell.

I was going to take my LS3 heads there to be CNC ported, but since my build has switched from NA to FI, porting is no longer necessary to reach my power goals.

Is 7.4 the correct length for pushrods? Doesnt the LS6 cam use 7.425" pushrods? Have you checked preload?
