GT Peformance (Tuning)
I recently had the time to spend getting my 2001 Camaro SS (LS1/A4) tuned w/Mike at GT in the OC. He also installed some basic bolt-on mods (SLP lid/pulley/Granatelli MAF/intake elbow) and baselined the car's tune.
The base numbers we found were 324HP/335TQ at the rear wheels; currently at 138K miles. However, going beyond chasing some number figures, the car has literally come alive now. The tune, shift points and overall driveability are now more responsive for what you can consider a basically a stock SS.
The car feels much more like a true drivers car w/a nice tune and responsive shift feel. This is basically my jumping off point before going into cam, headers and so forth...
A GREAT BIG Thanks to Mike at GT Performance in Costa Mesa, his talent, passion for the hobby and honest business approach. I look forward to a continued business/hobby relationship and building a clean, decently fast SS-Thanx Mike!

I'm glad that your experience with Comp GT has been a pleasant one so far. Makes me just a bit less nervous about my car "going under the knife.". I just dropped off my SS yesterday at Mike's shop. They will be installing a full heads/cam package for me as well as be tuning the car. Hopefully my overall experience will be as good as yours. So far it's been great, Mike has been real honest with me and is definitely an enthusiast. Was that ur red SS I saw there yest? On black wheels? If so, super clean car!

Neg "ghostrider" the pattern is full"; actually, I did see the Red SS you are mentioning. However, mine is a different car. Best of luck getting your mods, upgrades and I don't think you will be disappointed

RedZed if your car is still at Competition GT- I saw it their yesterday. Full intake, and they said they installed Kooks headers and catback- did 341whp!! I thought my eardrums were going to rupture... Kudos, great car, love the wheels, good luck with future work, they were taking care of it over at Comp GT!
