The owner of the corvette cant really do anything he didnt commit any crimes and even if he was sued in civil court he wouldnt have any damages... This is really the best thing that could have happened

its not theft because they did not attemp to deprive the owner of the vehicle. as well as what damage did it do to the vehicle?
when they dropped off there car they signed an agreement allowing the company rights to the car... the owner gave permission as well as the keys... they will never see any type of criminal charges....
As far a a civil judgement you have to prove that you are out something what are they out a 1/16 tread of tire? a small scratch? nothing even worth a lawsuit.

so they can drive the car put as many miles as they want. put wear on the tires. brakes, miles there not getting back, scratching it, fluids, clutch material, mantiance that goes with milage, warenty that goes with milage from dealer, ect, and they gave them permission to store the car not drive it around for a daily driver.
and what type of rights are you talking about. im pretty sure they dint sign any rights saying anything other than drive it to the lot and store it. oh and if you choose to drive my car around for fun go right ahead.
im a automechanic so after you fix the car. you take it out and drive it a little bit to see if it got fixed. does that mean i have the right to drive it and put as many miles as i want to??? they gave me permission to work on it and to test drive it..
and if you take someone property without there permission that is theft. yes they gave them permission to store it but thats it.

the only way its a theft if your intent was to keep it... clearly it wasnt...
so your saying they cant move the car around after its on the lot or incase of a fire, moved to an offlot, any crime to the lot etc? clearly they have this right ... clearly they are the caregiver of the car when you sign the waiver... its not a criminal matter
as far as saying wear on the brakes, tires etc they would have to prove that the item at x and went to y and they would get a payment from x to y... so if they used a 1/4 of the brakes and brakes are $4 they would get $1
