Racing Helmet in So. Cal?
Where can I get a damn racing helmet in southern california? I've been calling all over the place. No one seems to sell these things. Please help. Need helmet for drags on Thursday. Thanks.

yeah they are better they are mad to save your pretty mug when there is no car around your body. Motorcycle helmets will be fine, the reason they are different is because of the venting system they have on them most times. That and they look a lot better. Just get a motorcycle helmet for like $100 and then later order a nice 400-700 helmet from Simpson, or Arai.

They are uninformed about drag racing requirements. You just need to have a helmet that meets snell 2000 rating. The motor cycle stuff is a lot nicer, and only costs about 130 for a good helmet.

The difference between motorcycle helmets and automotive racing helmets is that the automotive helmets are fire retardent, where as motorcycle helmet are not. Either will work for test-n-tune sessions for most street driven cars.
