Phoenix, AZ shops?
Can anyone tell me of any LS1 shops in the Phoenix area that they would recommend? Might be moving there in a few months and would like to know ahead of time. As it stands right now I would probably be living in the Avondale area.
Also, where could I get 100+ unleaded octane gas? Any stations that have it at the pump?
Thanks for any info.
Brian

Eh kinda. I bought my first supercharger from AZ Speed and Marine and had them install it. They did a good job, but took a long time and were not overly friendly/personable.
I buy my methanol from Xtreme Motorsports and I bought a Nick Williams throttle body through them. They were ok to work with.
I have not done business with AZPS before, but I have talked to Chad a few times and he seems ok. I know AZPS has a big following and they have hosted a couple of Phoenix area get-togethers.
I think all three of these shops were LS1tech sponsors at one time, but none of them are listed anymore. I don't think you would go wrong with any of these shops, they are all pretty reputable as far as I know. What are you wanting to have done?
Just thought of another one too....ProDyno. Never had any experience dealing with them.

I'm not really looking for these shops to do anything for me at this time. I'm currently having a 383 built and it should be completed here shortly. My concern is if I have problems with the motor after I move to Phoenix is there a shop that is knowledgeable and competent with LS1s.
I guess I'm seeing who is out there that could provide "damage control" if needed.
BTW, do you have any info on the availability of 100 octane out there?
Thanks.

Speed and marine isnt too bad.. but they are expensive and take a long time. pro dyno is next door to AZPS.. and they ****** blow. will take ur money and tell u to get screwed. Xtreme is good too.. chad works back over there now.

+1 for AZ Automasters and Top Gear Motor Sports.
AZ Automasters just rebuilt the rear end (w/ 3.73's) in my car. Mike (the owner) is a good guy. All of them own F-bodies or Vettes.
Also, I've heard nothing but good things about Sean (whom I've met at Firebird several times). When I upgrade the torque converter I'll be going to him.
Unfortunately for you (if you move to Avondale) they are both on the other side of town.
