had a crazy canyan run today (=
hey guys so today i followed one of my friends up this canyan past plummer, and with all my suspension mods and g force tires in the rear and simoto (i think) in the fronts it was running preety good! it was a very narrow canyan and i was a bit worried to push the car to its limits but i never had the rear or the fronts slide out, i was doing it mostly in 3rd and 2nd for lower declines, but i also found out the zexel torsen lol isent the best diff for canyan runs, man i can feel that thing was locked up when i was on some of the turns at low speeds in high rpms, but i was still surprised that even tho i have an added power steering cooler witch is a long frame rail cooler, still my pump got kinda hot! but not as hot as it used to, but after the run i popped my hood and the fluid smelled a bit bad, and the fluid was thin as water! and the pump sounded a bit louder as i went through the turns more and more when i was in the canyan! do u guys think i should switch over to the Lucas power steering fluid? i know the lucas fluid is really really think! i used to use it till i blew my line due to a bad fitting and i had to replace the fluid with something else! but would you guys think a thicker fluid would be safer and better for canyan use? i also noticed no noises wat so ever with that fluid!

looks like you should ask your question to all the auto cross guys in that section. i would say it sounds like you have more experience with this than i do, do what you think is right!

i think synthetic b&m trans fluid should do well, or mounting a small reverse flow fan on your ps cooler that ties into the on and off relay from the engine coolant, so it goes on with your fans or when you put on your a/c, that seems like the most logical way to do it,

lol yes i need to use firefox now (which i just opened) i make some mistakes because i type fast and dont realize it! but yea i know the cooler is not getting sufficient air through it since i havent cut into the front air dam like others do, i was a bit worried about doing that since maybe it will be less air going to the radiator. since my fans were tuned for 160 there is some air that passes through the cooler when the fans are on but still im sure thats not enough! does anybody have a type of tool or something that i can buy to help me do a professional cut on the plastic air dam? most likely i will either get a better synthetic fluid or mix the lucas fluid with the regular fluid to make it just right!
