I work for an appartment building and no they cannot enter your residence unless it is an emergency (fire, flood, etc...) What you should do is talk to the manager and let him know that you know your rights. Depending on what city you live in there might/might not be rent controll. In that case be extra carefull what you say to the manager because they can evict you without reason if you live in a city that has no rent controll. If he continues to do so after talking to him i would sugest just calling the police next time and report an attempted break in. Good luck and if you have any more questions just ask.

the guy definitely cannot enter your unit anytime he wants. call a lawyer, pay for a consultation and handle the situation. i don't know why you would post this question on a car forum.

my dad has been a landlord for many years and yes they must ask for your permission to come its against the law to just come in whenever he fels like it and no he cnat evict you for no reason eviting you would be for non payment or detroying the property and even then it could take upto six months

California law requires 24 hours notice to enter your residence. It should also have the reason for the entry needed. I agree to just talk to the manager and keep it respectful as renters don't have a lot of rights.
