WS6 Formula

WS6 Formula
Alright guys, i hate doing this but shes gotta go. I have to sell my 1999 Formula WS6. It is a true formula ws6 with around 38,xxx on it. It has been modded with 243 heads, cam, headers, slp exhaust and other parts along with some suspension pieces like a bmr panhard bar and other small things like that. I beat a 375rwhp 2010 camaro so I think it has around 400-425 at the wheels. It is red with dark grey cloth with the six speed and is also a hardtop. Interior is mint. It is a very clean car with no rust on the undercarrige or anywhere else. No accidents or marked title. This is a very clean ws6 formula that runs like a top with absolutely no other issues. I am just trying to see what I will be able to get out of it in the spring because I have to pay for college. Thanks for your input.

If you can put it back to 'stock' or close to it, there is no reason why you can't get $10,000 for a very desireable low mileage 6 speed Formula WS6. As stated numerous times here in this section, the mods severely limit your buyer's market, especially with any type of engine work. Boasting of HP and mods will mostly appeal to only others in your age bracket, a group that generally has no cash to buy a nice car like yours. You may get lucky, but don't expect it. If you leave the car 'as is' I'm afraid you won't get close to that $10,000. You never know until you try. GLWS and college too!

But what I dont understand is how regular ws6 trans ams with 80,000-100,000 miles are going for 12000-15000 and my car (not saying its some rare gem) with 38,xxx and being a ws6 formula hardtop isnt even worth 10? I did some research and Im not going to lie, its not as common as a trans am with only 175 total WS6 Formulas made in 1999. Thanks for your input though, I appreciate it.

I don't think you are seeing actual sales of those Trans Ams you are talking about, just asking prices and not realistic ones. I have no knowledge of 80,000 - 100,000 miles WS6 T/A's selling for that money. You are mistaken.

OP, I wish and hope you do get big $$ for your car but don't expect it. Also what people say they will pay, and what they actually hand over in cash, are two entirely different things. Lord knows how many times someone has told me they will pay me big money for one of my rides. I say, "OK, bring it over." Never hear from them again. Nothing but BS. You'll see, unless you get very fortunate. You wanted opinions and I'm going to back mine up when an opposing view is aired. Been on top of the LT1, LS1 pricing game since I bought my first new '96 Formula over 15 years ago. Collector cars much longer than that. Your car, my 25,000 miles T/A, many cars here are worth $15,000+++ but when you need to sell, worth means nothing. Actual sales figures is all that matters.

Not to get you depressed but here are some other '99 LS1 examples NOT selling at the moment, including a rare 6 speed '99 Firehawk. Even a sweet one -owner T/A 'vert (not a WS6) with only 28k miles that hasn't even hit $10,000 yet:

This is the real market you are up against when you try to sell your modded Formula. Tough sledding in a tough economy. It's an eye-opener
