Default 1997 Formula WS6 10,000 miles

Black on black, mint condition barn find. Any idea what this thing might be worth?

I'd guess 12-13k. Even a bit more.

Where'd you find it that it only has 10k miles?

$10-12k?
I think that would depend on if all the fluids have been maintained, any maintanence history and if it really does need any work.

We really could use more details. You didn't even state what type of tranny it has. Is it 100% stock? How many owners? Is the title clean? Why is it a 'barn find'? That term is overused and misleading. Is it really, or has it been kept well maintained in a climate controlled garage? Barn finds make me think of mice and all kinds of vermin chewing up wires and making nests
If you can provide more detailed info please do so. In the mean time I agree with hardbones and would pay anywhere in that $10,000 - $12,000 neighborhood IF the car was well maintained by one or two owners and kept in a climate controlled garage. A manual tranny in that WS6 Formula would be icing on the cake for perhaps one of the finest examples around. I might even pay a bit more if all the maintenance was done (documented) with no needs whatsoever, including the tires. Everything affects price and so much more info is needed.

100% stock besides a borla catback. Has a cloth interior and automatic transmission. It has been sitting in a climate controlled basement for the past 12 years.

In before "$3,000 because it's an LT1" comments.

But realistically, $12-13k would be a fair price. A dealership would have it over $15,000 maybe even closer to $20,000 depending on the area...but then again, dealerships are ridiculous.

Well I sold my immaculate 1996 T/A with 19k on it for 11500 last year, I was the second owner and I literally would run my tongue over every inch of that car, Yes I have regretted selling it since,, a cpl months ago it sold on ebay for 9100 with a few ticks over 21k and new tires, yes I tried buying it back i should have, the buyer turned out to be a dealer from Texas who listed it at 17k on his website car sold since but unsure of how much, Formula's tend to be not worth quite as much as the T/A but not much less when there rare ultra low mile cars

^Formulas are also a rarer car, so to the right buyer/market, the price difference is a wash.

Thanks for the info but we still don't know about the title or how many owners. Trust me, it matters. 12 years in a climate controlled environment is certainly good to hear even though we don't know about the first few years. The exhaust not being stock is a minor negative. I would not be interested now, and purists feel the same way, yet some buyers would not have a problem with it. Reducing an already small buyer's market can hurt pricing. Since it is an auto tranny and reduces the 'rarity' factor a bit, I will stick to the original pricing we suggested which is in that $10,000 - $12,000 range (private party) unless there is something amiss. If you are going for it, good luck!!

MasterTomos , we are talking 1997 here but thank you for those figures anyway. I never would have guessed there were more manuals than autos in any given year. Always learning.
Do have the 1997 figures by chance?

Doh! lol, my bad. I believe the same holds true for 1997, just obviously not the exact numbers of course. Let me do some digging.

edit: update. I didn't find the color/transmissions break downs right off in my initial search, but it appears that in 1997 the Formula had almost spot on production numbers compared to 1996 524 total in 1996, and 528 total in 1997

Total 1997 WS6 production #'s:

Formula WS6'ss: 528 (Including 14 1LE WS6 Formulas, and 41 Formula WS6 Convertibles)
Trans am WS6's: 3,290 (including 463 convertible Trans am Ws6's)
Total 1997 WS6 cars: 3,818
