Default I was told 275/35/19 and 255/40/19???

For my camaro. They are 19x9.5 rims... This was someone at a tire shop. Not sure if I trust him though. Anyone have experience with a combo like this? Is it really a waste of tire for 275/30/19's all the way around?

I HAD 275/30/19's all the way around...VERY harsh ride! Especially with my Pro-Kit (which is being replaced as soon as my Konis and Strano springs arrive). I stepped down to 275/35/18's all the way around to get my better ride back and I'm happy again.

You'd need to have your speedometer recalibrated for a 275/35/19, but the ride has got to be better than the 275/30/19!

You should be able to do 295s out back with a 9.5wide wheel? and 255 is really small for that wide of a wheel so wth lol

I'm mainly talking about the profile of the tire being too tall...

275/30 all around is the correct size for a 19x9.5. Unless you enjoy more understeer, I would avoid running 255's up front.
Generally, I agree that this size would be a very harsh ride; but it depends on the specific tire. I have Michelin PS2 in 275/30 and the ride is very nice. Much less harsh than the previous BFG KDW in 275/40/17.

Do you have them all the way around, or just out back?

The 275/30/19's would be 25.5 inches tall. So it would be about .2 shorter then what the stock 275/40/17's are. If that is what your asking?

Would a 275 35 19 make the ride a little better or would that be too tall?

I have 295/30 and 305/30-19 Michelin PS2s on 19x10 C6s. They are spec'd at around 26" (+plus) tall, and they have a pretty decent ride for a big 19". I would try to get close to this height, and stay away from any RUNFLATS/ZPs/EMTs.
265, 275, and 285/35s is where I would start looking (don't forget used tires on Ebay).

i have them at all 4 corners. no need to be skinnier up front unless you are more into dragging than auto-x/road racing.....or if your back rims are wider than what can fit in front.

the 275/30's is the correct size and depending on the tire brand the might be a few hundreths of an inch differance.
the 275 30 will be about 25.3-25.5 tall.
you can also go with a 275 35 that would be 26 tall but thats anly a few hundreths taller that a 275 40 17.
i have 275 30 19's on the back of my benz and they are really low profile im geting a new set of nexens at the end of the week for the benz with a 245 35 19 in the front i had the general exclain and they where the shittyest tires i have owned the rears only lasted about 12-13k miles but the front still have about half thread left.
im geting the nexens for 700 and that includes mount and ballance road hazzard and a 4 wheels alignment so its not that bad and for the set im geting there 600 shiped on ebay so i think im geting a good price

i run 285/30/19, very odd ball tire size, i think it was stock for the front of vipers & also on some 911s. speedo is dead on, no recalibration, ride is ok. tire is 25.8 or within .1 of factory spec
