Major interference w/ 19" C6 wheels on WS6.. just me?
I've purchased a set of OE C6's from a local guy who had them in his Z28 which I personally saw pics of.. yet somehow I can't get these wheels even REMOTLEY close to mounting on the rear of my '00 WS6 (stock rear suspension height). The tires are striking the inside edges of the fender well with about 1.125" gap from the face of the wheel hub to the inner face of the rim face. Any ideas what the hell I can be doing different here? BTW these rims are wearing 295/35/19 BFG G-Force KDW-2's if it matters. I figure wheel spaces would probably come into play here, but how wide a spacer can I comfortable go with before I have to worry about stud length because this is quite a gap!... help?

Are they OE Wheels or OEM? In other words, whats the offset? I don't know if being 19's will make a difference, but replicas such as OE Wheels can have different offsets so the C6's fit more snug. If they're OEM's, you'll need spacers as they have a factory +79mm offset which is too high to fit an f-body from what I know. If the offsets more like +50mm, you may need to do the BFH mod or roll the fender since they are 19's

As far as I can tell they are OEM (measurements seem to add up), figures it's not more than 5mins AFTER I make this post that I finally stumble accross:

Looks like I'm going to need to run a 1.25" spacer out back, what I can't seem to find anywhere is the answer to the following:
1. Where are people buying their spacers from?
2. Is there enough stud left over after 1.25" to saftey get these wheels correctly torqued down?

When you have the rim off the car, look at the back of the rim and it should list some info or at least say if its OEM. If it really is OEM, spacers needed. To answer your questions too:
1. You can find spacers on Ebay for about 50-60. You may be able to find some used on there, our classified section, or even Craigslist
2. You should still be able to torque the lugs down enough with a spacer on there. Many people have used them and i've never seen anything bad, but I don't know anyone personally who uses spacers and I haven't used them personally. You can use the search option and see if you can find any helpful info on em or if someone advises against it

This is the type of spacer you're looking for:
I used these to fit OEM C6 19's on my '98 Z28. These were 1.25" spacers. The Firebirds can use a 1.5" spacer since their rear quarter panels are shaped a little different.
These type of spacers are available on eBay for around $60 per pair.

As pictured above, you need 1.25" adapters. They clear the studs without any grinding. I got mine on Ebay, they are lug centric, just as our wheels are, and have metric 10.9 hardware, equivalent to SAE grade 8 studs.
