Tires!
Thought I'd start the age old arguement about what tires are best for all around driving while still maintaining performance aspects. In other words, will work in rain, snow, and won't take away from your responsiveness and all that good shtuff. What your opinion?

I dont drive my z in the winter but i did buy winter tires for my beater. World of difference. If you have the cash flow and the space then i say do summer/performace and winter tires. If not then some decent all seasons. I've had good luck with the sumitoros(spell?) and dunlop tires.

One other factor to consider...For "dry traction", you want as much rubber on the road as possible. For cutting through snow, you want the exact opposite.
In Camaro/Firebird speak, the 4th gen cars, for instance came from the factory with a tire that's about 26.5" OD....Either a 245/50/16, or a 275/40/17. For good winter performance, you'd want a 225/55/16. All three are the same OD, so the car's computer will be happy, but the 225/55 is a lot narrower, to cut through the snow.

I am running stock size contenental conti extreme contacts. They're about 160 each, and the best tires ive ever had for the snow/rain/dry. IMO the best all season tire for the money

I had a set of BF's g-force on mine and the tread pattern was way cool but those suckers would get stuck in 1/2 of snow. like the guy said above. Good traction in snow is the opposite for dry traction. Spend $400 buck and get some all season tires then switch them out in the spring!
