Default 245/45/18 fit a C6 wheel 18x8.5 on my Trans AM?

Looking at purchasing a new set of C6 wheels 18x8.5 all around and found a great deal on Nitto tires 245/45/18....I know 245/40/18 is the recommended size but would these work on my 98 TA? Sorry guys, know nothing about tire sizing. I've done some research but not sure what to believe. Any help would be awesome, Thanks!

Hate to revive a dead thread, but this is my exact question and there seems to be no answer via searching.

I know it will be taller, but are there any fitment issues for the 45 series vs the 40 series? I want to fill the wheel wells a bit and use the car to commute 135 miles a day so extra sidewall is not a bad thing with the road I am on. But I do not tolerate tires rubbing personally.
