Need help with wheels for the Sonoma...
My truck is a '90 GMC Sonoma and I'm in the proccess of planning for its future LH7/T56 swap. Of course, some nice new wheels would help add to the cool factor and these really caught my attention...
http://www.oewheelsllc.com/Wheels-fo...02099-2-1.html
... they're cost efficient (I don't really "need" iForged or Fikse wheels on a truck thats technically barely worth $2,000), stylish, and wide enought for some respectable rubber, but I'm wondering if they'll fit on the factory setup? How about with a drop of about 3" all around? I'd like to get a 235 or a 245 up front and MAYBE a 275 or 295 out back.
Any tips are greatly appreciated.
Also, sorry if a similar topic has been discussed. My search-fu is hexed and I can never find what I'm looking for.
Thanks folks!

I'm in the process of trying to pick wheels for my S10 also. What color is your truck? Can you post a pic? Btw, I like those wheels. I was considering those or black Z06 motorsports.

^The truck is black-ish, old oxidized paint w/ very little clear left, and some orange pin stripes, but it isn't as bad as it sounds. I'll probably be giving it the flat-black rattle can treatment (fear not, I'm paint savvy). I don't have a pic at the moment, but it basically looks just like this, except it isn't a Syclone lol...

My truck is black with a red stripe. I've got some pics of when I removed the black z06 motorsports from my Z06 and set them next to the truck to see how they look. I think I'm either going this route or with chrome. I think the wheels you posted would look great on that truck.

^That looks pretty sharp with the Z06 wheels! Will they actually bolt up? Clearance issues?
I like these wheels I'm looking at because they're also matte black, which is the color I'm painting the truck if everything goes as planned. I was thinking of trying to save the factory paint, but its beyond that. So "murdered out" it goes (I hate that term BTW lol).

You can't see the rear tires real well though. The autcross rears were 245s, the last two pics are the 265s.

Indrid_cold:
The wheels in the pics are not mounted. They are just sitting next to the truck. If you look closely, you can see the hub and rotors. They aren't even close to mounting up. I had the truck on a jack and sitting very low just so I could slide the wheels under the truck to see what it looked like.
Here's what my truck looks like now.

^Ah, I got ya. What was the biggest setback of mounting them? Backspacing? I figure they might rub up against the leaf springs/frame rails depending on width and backspacing.

Definitely backspacing. The tire would hit the inner fender long before the mounting surfaces met. The ZR2 rear end is much much wider than the 2wd rear. Should allow me to use the z06 wheels on the truck.

^Well good luck with it man, because those looked great even just leaning up against it.
Now, hopefully someone can chime in and let me know whether my wheel choice is going to be a no-go due to fitment issues lol.

^Thank you very much for the link! Very helpful! Apparently, theres a guy that has 18x 9.5F 18x11.5R on his lowered V8 1st gen . I shot him a message asking if he had any fitment issues and what he had done.

My 98 Somona, 6 speed, 8.5 rear w/4:10's build 4.3 running a 100shot. fun little truck. I went with the Torque trust II's in 16X8 if you go with a 16" wheel min back spacing has to be 4.5" or the wheel will hit the tie rod end. Would be safer to go 17". Vette or Camaro wheels require too big of a spacer to make fit, good luck on the truck.
