Finally done...Painted 18X9.5 C5 Y2Ks...pics inside
Here are my previously polished but now painted with polished lip OEM c5 Y2Ks in 18X9.5 on all four corners. I used Sumitomo HTRZ 2 285/35/zr18 tires. It rides great. The paint code is WA391E, it's a GM code. The center of the hood and the "camaro" panel is the same color so it ties in. Let me know what you guys think.

These are OEM wheels just painted in bc/cc in this code. I just sandblasted them and did a primer sealer and then base/clear. I hand polished the lip with 500 grit and then red scotch brite and then polished it with my high speed buffer. Luckly I got the hook up on the paint and it was a freebe! All I have in these is my time.

Thanks again guys. I've always wanted to do a set of darker wheels, but actually going for it is a risk if it does not look good. I'm very pleased with it. Now I think it needs this same color somewhere on the side of the car. Maybe the Grandsport(the two stripes on the front fender) stripes in this color would look good.

they look really good but as far as the GrandSport strips i think there played out i wouldnt do it cause i had black ones on my Artic White camaro and i got tired of em within the first two to three months but its all in what you want i guess

Looks great, I'm planning on doing the same thing and same color since it looks so close if I can get my hands on two c5 rims. I have the older OE Wheels gunmetal c5 rims and they are discontinued but I want a matching pair for drag radials.

Looks good. I think that's the first time I've ever liked the Y2K wheels without them being deep dishes. I wish i would've had that setup on my old polo green Z28. Nice job.

I appreciate all the comments guys. Hopefully I can inspire someone else to "take the plunge" on a project like this. I am really glad I did. If anyone wants/needs help or tips with trying something like this just shoot me an IM. Thanks again guys.
