Who runs 17" DR's?
I switched over this year to Speedlines with Hoosier DR's. I need my rear fixed first before passing judgement and when I did go I couldn't find the magic air pressure. I went from 20 down to 15 (kind of loose there). My 60's were 1.54 but 1.68's with the 17's. What tire pressure seems to work best with the thinner sidewalls?

not sayin its 100% right but what ive heard ( and kinda noticed on mine but i dont have DRs) that with the thinner side walls when u run lower PSI instead of bubbling out the side walls (like 28 12.50R15) or something with a lot of side wall, on the thin walled ones u actual cup in the actual tread of the tire, like the center of the tire folds up wards instead, and if u seen some people the spin them on the street it will leave 2 (4 if u count both rear tires) thin lines of wear the side wall was pushing down on the ground and the center not really touching, but my .02 cents of what i ve heard and seen, i run 35 psi in my 275/40R17s and they seem to get an even amount of grip through the tire and hook ok for a street radial : \

I use Hoosiers 315x35x17 DR. They hook like crazy for me! Better than anything I have used and I have tried them all! Check out my sig for my times and 60'. 1.41 and pullin the front! I truely believe in these! Just not good for the street, wear way too fast and scary in any kind of rain.

I have run both the MT 315 35 17 DR and the 275 40 17 Hoosier DR and they both worked good around 20-22 psi for me. The Hoosiers also hooked well on the street when warm. I never drove on either one in the rain but if I had to guess the Hoosiers are dangerous when wet.

To the OP, down to 18/20 things got better, any lower then that and there was no improvement. And as an FYI, I run 20 in all my rear tires. My pair of Sumi street tires are showing a tad more wear along the outer edges. The drag radials aren't.

I use the Hoosier Drag Radial 315x35x17 at 15psi. I believe I did a best of maybe 1.50's on the Mickey's. The hoosiers are 10 lbs lighter per tire! The car weighs in at about 3370lbs. with out me in it. 420 hp on motor and 517 on a 100 shot. On motor it does 11.60's.

I need juice! If I wasn't so scared of blowing my motor up with it I would have it. I'm trying to go 10.999 at anything NA but my car is 3880 with me in it. I think the new power it will go an 11.1 but just not enough power.
I can easily take the inside stuff out amp/sub and all and drop 175 lbs.
