bought some nitto nt05's
pretty agressive looking tires havent really gotten to try them out much due to the snow. From what i have done so far they are GREAT tires, they do ok in the rain. only thing i found weird was the 2" rain grooves in the middle of the tire, IMO could have fit some more rubber in there. cant wait for autox season! dont have any pics of them on the car yet, but i do have to say they look very good. also noticed they run a little more narrow than the bfg's i had. same size just look a little smaller is all. heres a pic of them when delivered to my house haha.

are you thinking of the nt05R's?
nt05's are meant for RR and autox, not drag. the nt05r is the same compound but a softer sidewall to make it hook, which is probably what you're talking about. the nt05's are a sticky compound so they do okay off the line but they're really not geared towards that. that said, the 555R isn't really all that extreme of a drag radial compared to others so who knows.

Yeah I was talking about the R's which I thought was what he posted here but now I see it is just the NT05's, but either way they should be a pretty nice tire for what you want. Correct about the 555R not being extreme also, I think they pretty much suck from my short lived experience with them. LOL
