Default Best 275's for Tread Life?

Simple question. I commute around 20,000 miles a year.
I need a 275/40-17 tire that will last atleast 40,000 miles.
I don't drag race or rally race. Just spirited driving.

What do you guys recommend?

i have goodwrench run flats that came off the front of a 08 z06, they are 275/40/18, the compound is very hard and they last forever. BUT they get NO traction under hard torque. they are fine for rainy days, hot, cold, muddy.ect watever, but they are junk for traction under torque. the harder the compound, the longer they go; the softer the compound, the better "hook" they will have

Yeah, I'm not looking for something with a super hard compound. I'm just trying to pick a decent tire that will last me a couple of years. I always liked the BFGoodrich KDWS's but it seems they've been discontinued for awhile now.

That's the main thing that I'm looking at. The best for a half way decent price seem to be Continental Extreme Contact DWS & Michilin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. I've heard good things about the Michilin's but I've never owned either brand tire. I just figured I would post up & see what everone's having good luck with.
