Default What tire sizes should I run for a drag setup?

So I'm going to buy some 15x4 and some 15x8 summit stars I just don't know what size tires to buy for the front and rears. For the rears I was kinda looking at getting 275/50/15's but don't know if thats a good size and not sure for the front as I probably wan to go with MT's as I don't want to risk my life running some nexxans. So what sizes should I get? and pictures would help greatly too. thanks fellas. Oh this going on the car in my sig.

Are you gonna run it on the street also? Or strictly for the track? I put 275/60r15 Nitto 555dr's on the rear and the nexen 165/80r15's on the front. I run em 24/7 on my daily driver (in my avatar, I don't have any other pics yet)

stock but can't hook for sh** at the track. So I'm buying all necessary hardware to get traction. I know my rear will give but I'm gonna need it anyway cause I already have 799's being ported and need the traction so I will run stock till it snaps then is time for a aftermarket rear. Already bought some relocation brackets and am currently in the market for a good torque arm. Already have a panhard bar and LCA's

If you're set on using the MT sportsman fronts they'd be the equivalent to 26x5 or 26x6 I think. Personally I haven't had problems with the Nexens. I know people like to advise against it, and I understand that but I'm always on a strict budget so that's what I'm using and haven't had a single problem...but then again I've got less weight on my front end than a totally stock car so that may make it easier on the tires...who knows.

And if you're sticking with stock 3.42 gears for a while, you may want to go with the 275/50r15 tires, being 26" in diameter like stock sizes. The -60r15's are a 28" tire and will lower your effective gear ratio slightly, but I have 4.10s so it doesn't hurt me any.

i agree its better to pay a lil more to get a better rated tire but i have ran nexens for 2 years and they have been good to me, i run the same setup as hvymtl and i drive on them alot imo its a good setup for a car that is on the street alot, i will never tell anyone to buy a tire that is not rated for there car but a few of us run them and have had no issues, not saying there are not bad ones out there but i have liked mine, also it might be a good idea to buy a used drag setup, i have seen sets go for 6 to 800 with great tires

I shipped my 17's with tires on them to a guy after I got my new set up and it cost I think $83 or so through UPS ground, but I packaged them. You can make it happen for not too much if you shop around. FedEx ground would have been over 100
