Default Need help drag wheels

The car is a 94 lt1 with factory brake setup on the front a 00 camaro ss rearend with factory ls1 brakes. with factory ride height not lowered.

every link i go on its a different story or someones opinion is different...

i been looking everywhere for a hour.

i dont wan2 spend alot on a drag set up i kno the summit and jegs wheels are heavy thts really not a problem with me with the weight..

i would like to go with the fifteens.

but wan2 run a 275/50 or 275/60 tire which is better?

the next thing is some ppl say u need to grind calipers which i understand.
but on the other hand with the studs and spacers is tht true.??

What size wheels do i go with?? and need to kno the backspacing for the rear and front of using the summit or jegs set up..

u call summit or jegs there clueless on there info

thanks. hope i can get some help.

I ran the summitt stars on my car a couple years ago.. This is the size rims, tires and Backspace I used:

Fronts were 15X4, BS 1.75 with 26x6x15 MT Sportsman SR's, rears were 15X8, BS 5.5 with MT ET street radials 275/50/15.

I had to grind all calipers to get these to fit, I did not use any spacers....

Just go with the Summit brand like I did John. They are a nice budget wheel that looks good.

Pretty much the setup I run now, but I use 165/80/15s for front runners.

I have a set of prostars for sale. They are lighter than the jegs and summit wheels but as others have mentioned do require grinding. Most people run a 5/16 spacer upfront and grind down the rear calipers until those wheels fit. Others run a spacer on both the front and back with minimal grinding but swap out the rear wheel studs for peace of mind.
As far as tires go, its all personal preference. I like the rear tires to be 275/60/15 as it fills up the fender well better.

Here are my prostars for sale, if you are interested in picking up a set. There are many options out there but as far as budget/ weight goes these are ranked pretty high.

Amazing how a set of wheels can change a whole cars personality. No offense, but man your car was ugly as **** with those Summit wheels lol. Now with the 15/17 RTS combo, it's probably one of the best looking 98-02 F-bodies I've seen!

Thanks man, much appreciated. LOL, yea, it didn't look the best.. Also got rid of the stainless triangle on the sail panel.. The rims and tires did their job though, they hooked nice.. Just bought a 9" yesterday, so we'll see how the new set up does later this year!
