nitto 555r or toyo proxes tq?
out of these 2 drag radials, which has better dd ability and grip on the street? Id get them in either 255-50-16 (toyos) or 245-50-16 (nittos). the car is a streetcar but id like to go to the track a few times next year just to see what the car will do.
I read both will last in the 10k mile range which is fine and arent too bad in the rain.
I know mts are better than both so theres no need to say anything about them.
thanks.

I've ran both, and can definitely say the Toyo's were better in every way! The griped much better than the Nitto, lasted almost as long, and worked just as good in the rain. With that in mind I can't see any real advantage to going with the Nitto after having had both now

Ran multiple sets of nittos and they did good for my needs...Until i tried the Toyo TQ, does everything the nitto does only better. At the track i dropped a full tenth over the nitto and the toyo i use is the 275/40/17 vs the nitto 315/35/17. I daily drive my car, around 250-300 miles a week and it has been raining non stop here almost all of december, even being 30 degrees out i havent had any issues. Ill be sticking with the TQ's from here on out.

Exaclty, i went with 275 on the toyo's and they are just about as wide as the 315 nitto was and actually 1/4" taller, not to mention a couple lbs lighter.

Well lets just say that I noticed no real difference between the 2 in the rain at all! The Nitto seems to run small in every size, but especially in the 315. The Toyo looks to be normal...maybe even slightly wider than most in several sizes that I have seen
