What Tires 315/35R17 rear 275/40R17 front
I purchased the car with Nitto NT555R's and I love the tires but they don't last. The car is an 02 Camaro SS. I'm in South Florida so I need something that will do pretty well in the rain, the current tires are kinda scary in the rain. What tires would be a happy medium between what I want with some tread? I tend to put alot of miles on cars as well so I'd like something that's going to last awhile. Again the tire size I currently have on the car is 315/35R17 rears and 275/40R17 front. I'll update the thread with rim size once I pull the rims off tomorrow. I love the wide tires but they rub a bit and I wouldn't mind going a little smaller....maybe.

The NT555Rs are the narrowest 315s you can run. Either the offset is off or you need an adjustable panhard rod to get rid of the rubbing (assuming you'd BFH'd the inner wheel well and rolled the fenders).
I assume you want the same tire all around? Tho it wouldn't matter as you can't rotate...
Nitto NT555s are good but won't have as much traction as the R drag radial version. They'll last a little longer and run much wider. Nitto also has the NT05, which doesn't last as long as is more grippy in the dry and less-so in the wet.
Toyo R888s are good DOT competition tires that are used by SCCA as rain tires. But since they are comp tires, they have pretty bad treadlife.
Goodyear used to make the GSD3 that was an awesome tire. You still might be able to find it. Great in the rain.

I can put on 18-20k a year. BFH'd? I purchased the car with this setup. I only rub on one fender currently and I'm working out that issue. I did roll that fender. I have no idea what the offset is, let alone the wheel size currently. By the looks of it I don't have a whole lot of options. Changing rims is to expensive at this point but that maybe what I need to do in the future. Till then I need to look at my options. I have to be so careful in the rain and even then its kinda scary. No one makes a harder rubber tire? If I have to give up some traction then I don't have a choice, its a dd and I need some life outta these bad boys. Whatever I go with needs to do decent in the rain to.

Big effing Hammer.
It depends on your power. It's always a tradeoff. Great dry traction poor rain and treadware.
I am entirely jealous you can use these. Sumitomo HTR Z's
Probably have bad rain performance but they are cheap enough that the treadware may not be an issue.
Goodyear Eagle F1
Certainly lose a lot of dry traction but rain and treadware performance would be MUCH better.

The camaro is stock right now so hooking isn't really a big issue. Being a dd I need some tires that are going to last awhile. I'm going to look into the options you all have posted. Thank you!
