18s on stock ride height, will it look ok?
Have a white ws6 and I love the deep dish chrome y2k c5 wheels. I am going to get the 18x10.5 rear and 18x9.5 front. Going to run 315-30 rear and probably 275_35 front. Its a turbo car and I really can't lower it. Will it look weird at stock ride height?

I'm curious, though, what being a turbo car has anything to do with lowering it?

Well, I would suggest finding some tires with at least 40 sidewall... I'm not sure if anyone makes them but my 18s with a 35 sidewall really looks way too small on a stock height car. And honestly, a 45 would help even more... but I can't really tell you how good it will look on the wheels...

Here is the car a few years ago, pretty much what it still looks like as far as wheels and height.
275 40 17 front and 315 35 17 rear.

I have 18 in front and 19's on the back and I and the rest of my SMCC club love the setup! I personally don't believe in a rim that is TOO big! I say fill the space up as much as you want WITHOUT modification.
Some reason ppl are against rims bigger than 19 inches altogether IDK why... Constant fight!

Ya i generally like bigger wheels but the type of car comes into play. A new vette with a big wheel is great but the 4th gen is an older car. I think 18s look great. Just worried about the ride height thing

I'm with you on that one however, the ride quality has always sucked LOL! I guess for me, I'm not always on the track. If I raced like every Friday night during race season, then YES big rims wouldn't be the first/best choice. No matter the size rim I buy, I wouldn't run them on the track either for optimal times in the 1/4. One the street, a car with that amount of power will barely blink at a bigger/heavier rim. You'd barely notice the difference. I would also venture to say that MOST ppl don't hit the track on a regular as well.

And even with "that amount of power" you will notice a difference because of weight for one, and less traction from a smaller side wall tire.

I have a set of wheels/tires for the track. Im looking for a different look and tires that last longer than drag radials. Not looking for traction on the street, I said good bye to that when I went turbo.

Diff track tires... YEP I do too! Different look is what I'm shooting for as well! It's crazy bc we all have different goals for our cars! One look will take away from another aspect. Me losing .2 of a sec in my quarter mile bc I want to win car shows (while still running very low 12's ) doesn't faze me. Thats just me tho! I can easily gain that back with a slight adjustment of NOS! HOWEVER, I don't have that issue bc I change tires at the track. All around performance... I'm not cornering at 60 mph or measuring brake distance so it means little to me

ordered the 18x10.5 and 18x9 .5, 295/35 and 275/35 c5 chrome deep dish. Il put them on and see. I have adjustable qa1 in the front i can tweak a little. The rear id have to get springs. What springs lower the car the least? I already did the heater hose mod

I know the back are 285-35-r18. I think the fronts are 255-40 r18.
I just kept the stock ride height with adjusting the tire profile. Fronts are 18x8.5 and backs are 18x9.5.
