BFG g-force RIVAL.......good in the rain....?
How have you guys who use this tire rate it when its wet out.....for the REAR tires.....?
I'm using Nitto 555 Extremes up front.
But the Rivals in 315/35/18 in the rear. The tread design does not look wet friendly.......
....How much better in wet conditions are Michelin Pilot Sports PS2 in the same size....?

On the Tire Rack pro survey, these tires do rate a bit weak on wet performance compared to the other extreme summer performance tires. The rating is also quite low to compared to many of the max and ultra performance summer tires (BFG comp2's, etc.).

I know a few guys that run them on cars that they track and autocross, and they hate the tires in the rain. Sketchy and worthless were the two most common adjectives used to describe rain performance. On the flip side, nothing but praise for dry handling.

I have 315/17 NT555 on the rear now.......they're great.
Ill check into the BFG Comp-2.....you think the Mich Pilot Sports have better dry grip and handling...?

The Michelin pilots come out very highly rated among the summer max performance tires in both wet and dry conditions. The only weakness I see is that the Pilot PS2 ranks a tad lower in hydroplaning or ride comfort than the Pilot SS or Sport 3. And with 12 MILL miles of survey experience on the PS2 it's probably accurate. The "would buy again" rating on the SS and PS2 are the highest in the survey which says something. The Continental DW is right in there too....and much cheaper than the Pilots, though they probably have a limited availability in non-stock sizes.
The max performance category is topped by the BFG Comp 2's. But, you can see that the ratings aren't as high as the top 5 in the max summer category. The Nitto 555's aren't on the survey though they'd probably rank somewhat similar to the BFG Comp 2's.
My own preference was to the DW since the price of the Michelin Pilot/Goodyear F1 made no sense for my typically moderate/touring type of driving. But the stock sized 245-40-17 BFG Comp 2's (with discount) were $150 less per set of 4 than the DW. It was too good to pass up. The Goodyear Eagle F1's don't score high on these surveys but numerous forum members just love them.
