Default Cracked my Z06 rims from perf wheel outlet (pic)

So washed my car finally after some crappy cali weather and lazyness and noticed that I cracked one of the spokes on my knockoff 18" Z06 wheels. The crack is all the way through the spoke about in the middle and perp to the spoke direction. I cant figure out how I did this since I have NEVER hit or damged these rims or even tires. I am thinking it could have happened from some nasty wheel hop and maybe San Jose potholes that we call roads. Anyone have this happen? I am trying to warranty these things so I can get my car back on the road but cant get ahold of performance wheel outlet (might be called dante designs also) any suggestions?

I did the same thing to my front Z06 rims on my old 99 Firebird also purchased from Performance wheel outlet. But I may have some bad news for u I heard from another source that they went out of business and no longer exist. I havent looked into myself but that is the word.... But at the time when I broke the rims they warranty them no problem. I upgraded from 17 to 18 rims for free. Good luck. The only other place that I know sells silver Z06 wheels is summit racing.

They are out of business? That is not cool, very not cool. Why do they still have an answering machine that says Dante wheels then? Its the same address...I hope to god they are just on vaca. i cant afford new **** right now!

EDIT: Just checked the summit site and here is a direct quote....
"Performance Wheel Outlet, Inc. products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. This limited warranty covers each wheel's structure for five years, chrome plating for one year (wheel face only), and cosmetic blemishes for 30 days from the date of purchase, prior to tire installation. Wheels that have been mounted void this warranty."

Wonder if I can warranty through summit?

Is it common problem on Z06 wheels? Does it effect on the road vibration or something like that?

Super glue and let it set over night, should fix the problem. No really I also heard they went out of business. Call Summit racing and see what they say.

I called Summit earlier this morning and seem to still deal with them. They gave me their contact number and still get the same stupid..."all reps are busy" message. They said they only warranty what they sell, meaning I need to get through to these guys. At least summit does sell the rim so if all else fails I pay another 180 or so and get a new rim the next day.

These guys are really pissing me off I now have two numbers for them...one from my receipt and one from summit racing and they both get the same message no matter what time I call. Anyone live in that area that would do me a favor and burn the place down!

Some of the guys on Corvetteforum have had their fake Z06 wheels fall apart. I wouldn't drive on that wheel, it might completely fall apart on you and damage your car. I've seen photos of it happenening to the same wheels before.

Really? I guess I never noticed people complain about them coming apart..not cool. Is the problem only with the dante/performance wheel knockoffs or is it all the knockoffs out there? I found a place at SEMA this year that sold them in 19", I my current wheels keep doing this I will go 18/19...but if the problem is inherant with the cast wheel design of this style then I might have to go a different direction.
OH...the place I talked to is Factory Reproductions, you have to call to get the 19's.

A friend of mine went to gets some tires a few weeks ago and saw one of the guys that used to work there named Stewart. He says that the owner could not compete with some of the pricing that other companies were providing and sold it. Dont know to who but I believe that it is only thru private companies now i.e. Summit, Jegs, etc. But i know for a fact that Summit has the same exact wheels because I remember walking into there showroom and seeing a sign that said Dante designs were there manufacturer.

So that means I am F&#$ED on my warranty huh? Or should I be able to warranty them through Dante? The answering machine that I get is Dante...but never get answers.

I cracked the inner barrel on a AFS 17x9.5 A-molds. AFS has changed production mehtods from what I understand. The wheels were bought in 99. I still will not run an OEM replica wheel.

Well, had to do it...ordered new rim from summit...200 down the drain! I figure I got a good year left on my tires, then I will just go with a new rim/tire combo...until then I hope they dont break.
Anyone think it could be wheel hop thats hurting these things? Mine is way nasty and the only mod I havent done to my suspension are LCA's....coudl be an exuse to finish
Anyone know a good place that has killer wheel/tire combos?....affordable?
