M/T drag radials are AWESOME!
I just put a pair on my 6-speed Camaro and after a test drive I am very impressed. The car just GOES now. No spinning, even in first gear on the street! The 1-2 shift just makes the front end jump way up and my head smack the head rest! The M/T's seem to corner OK and are quiet too. Even after three hard "acceleration tests" on the street during the test drive, the mold "*****" are still on the tire -- so these M/T drag radials may just last a while.
I put 255/50-16 on the stock '98 wheels. Unless you have crazy power (over 500hp), I don't think more tire would be needed. I will post how the car 60-foots at the dragstrip tomorrow.

There may be such a thing as too much traction!
The tires stuck so well that 3000 rpm clutch engagement led to a serious bog at that same rpm. When I went higher than that, I think the clutch may have slipped some. The tires barely spin at all, even with agressive clutch engagement on the street -- which leads to the dreaded bog. Bog = 2.0 sixty-foot times. I only ran down the track three times.
1st time = bog
2nd time = spin the tires over about two times then bog
3rd time = keep the rpms up with clutch slippage = clutch continued to slip through first gear (I think).
There has to be a "happy place" between bog and clutch slippage.
I need to learn how to launch on these tires...

These tires have a ton of traction, the only bad thing is its sucks to clean the burnt rubber off your bumper( much worse then BFGs of even Hoosier slicks). They are much stickier then BFGs, probably as good as the Hoosier slicks for traction but I dont think they`ll last as long as either.

As far as tire wear goes...mine have not worn at all from what I can see so far. I have put about 100 miles on them, three burnouts and trips down the 1/4-mile, and about 15 launches on the street. I *think* the little rubber "*****" on the tread of the tire may have finally worn off!
If the tires don't spin, they can't wear!
Heck, when I looked at them today, the tires had MORE than stock rubber on them! They had picked up a solid bead of rubber off the dragstrip on both edges!

I have the same 255/50/16 on my stock Z28 rims, so far ive put almost 3k miles on them so far, and im nowhere near the tread indicators, I would guess about 75% tread left, I been to the track and done 4 passes, all with preheating the tires, and ive done probably 30+ street runs from a dig, with probably 10 starting with preheating also. I love them. Also my slowest 60 foot time is a 1.7, and a couple of 1.6's. These are my daily street tires. And i will buy them again.

I borrowed a set of these from a buddy of mine about a month ago when i went to the track and all i can say is...new clutch. I made passes the whole day started with a 2k dump with bog, went to 3k and bog, went 4k and bog, went 5k and no bog but as soon as it grabbed the clutch gave and just started slipping like crazy. =\ I love the tires though they definitely live up to the STICKY part for sure. I am about to put a Spec 3 in and head back to the track and see what i can do without breaking the rear =X
