Painted 10 spoke SS wheels
Does anyone have pics of painted or powdercoated SS wheels (mainly 10 spoke) ?? I want to powdercoat mine, but would like to see various pics first to give me an idea on what parts to powdercoat.

Yeah, TK 14 SS did that and it looked good. Here's a couple of links that should answer all of your questions.

You are probably better off to paint them with automotive paint mine were painted like TK's and sand blasted them and took them to get powder coated the same way and noone i tried wanted to do it on the fact that they are hard to tape off and powder is thicker than paint so u can see the tape lines. Also the wheel must be stripped of all paint and clear coat so that the powder will stick. But i got mine back powder coated sivler and will now have to paint the centers again

I did my standard 10 spokes like 35ths....
it wasn't real hard...a full day of cleaning, masking and spraying and VOILA !
I used Duplicolor Dark Metallic Charcoal wheel paint instead of black though.

More graphite duplicolor wheel paint.
I'd not have wheels powdercoated. The heat from curing the powdercoating can soften the wheels. I know of at least one set of corvette wheels that were coated 3 times (trying to get the color exactly right) that eventually failed (the hub broke out of the center of the spokes). I'd stick to paint.

Thanks. I feel bad admitting that I wanted them that color because I run race pads (that make lots of dust) and hate to clean wheels. So, now the dust matches and I don't clean them....ever. It wasn't originally done to look cool (though I do like it), it was a by product of pure lazyness. At least I'm honest.

I don't think paint will last very long if the car is driven. If you are going to go thru the work I would powdercoat.
I had some wheels powdercoated to see how it would go. I had the rim polished and the center powdercoated. The first wheel the guy taped for me. It blead on the line between the polish and the powdercoat. The 2nd wheel I taped and the line turned out fine. It is very difficult to cover everything with tape and there ends up being some overspray. The overspray of black can be cleaned off before it is powdercoated clear.
Here is what I would do if you were to try this and your wheels are in good condition. Strip the paint and clear off with aircraft aluminum stripper. Then polish the part you want polished. Tape it off yourself. Have it powdercoated black, clean up imperfections and the tape line. Then have it cleared. This is a lot of work btw.

90% of all rims are painted. Paint holds up well on those rims and if its done right painting them over works fine. I've painted several sets of wheels and I drive the wheels year round in rain sleet snow and hail. A couple all black, one set dark grayish with a polished lip, the latest set Duplicolor Graphite. All the rims I've painted lasted fine with only a a couple chips in several years. I take my time though and prep them very well giving ample dry time and sanding between coats of paint.
Although these aren't 10 spoke SS wheels like the Duplicolor Graphite paint too..
