Default Widest tire on a 10" wide wheel???

Like the title says, whats the widest tire you can fit on a 10" wide wheel. I'm thinking about stuffing some 335/35/20" tires on a set of torque thrusts for my LS1 powered 55 chevy. I know the dodge viper has a 13" wide wheel for having 335 wide tires, but american racing says "no problem"

That's too wide for such a short side wall. I assume a 55 chevy can take a 29" tall tire. Widest for the 10" wide wheel in a 20" rim would be 305/40/20 (Nitto makes one in their 404 series.) Now if you went old school with 15x10 rims you could go with a 325/50/15 which is a little shorter but widely available. Or you could go with a MT 29x15.5x15LT Sportsman (equivalent to approx. 390/45/15).
