Advantages / Disadvantages of 315s?
I have a stock 02 Camaro SS A4 - no mods. What are the advantages / disadvantages of putting 315's in the back. (Other than looks of course.)

the bulge on your wheels will look dumb bc your wheels are not wide enough. gas mileage will suffer. tires will be louder then stock. you cant rotate them with the fronts when time comes. the wheels will "track" sideways sometimes. more traction from the wheels will put more stress on your 10 bolt which could break it. if one gets a leak and has to be replaced it will be kinda expensive. cant lower too much in the future bc the tires will rub on the fender. and lastly your car will look mean and powerful from the rear but wont be backed up by the unmodded engine.

they're big enough to catch every pothole in the road, but not big enough to go over them. they're loud and stiff (at least my road-racing BFG KD's) so they don't cushion much. the biggest problem is that such tires usually need some heat in them to work well, but they're so huge that you will not heat them up to proper temperatures with normal driving on the street, so they actually will handle worse than normal tires.
the good part is that if you get it on the track and heat them up, they are absolutely ridiculous and you'll amaze yourself with how much you can get away with.

Nitto's I have are as quite as my 285/40/17 GSD-3 Street tires on my stock rims.
Advantages: More traction/contact with road, looks cool.
Disadvantages: Possible rubbing in the fender/wheel well area(May have to grind bump stops), limited availability of DR's.
Wish MT's would come out with a 315/35/17 DR in their new ET Streets. That would be hot.

I think anything smaller than 315's on the back of an f-body looks stupid. I have 285/40/17's on the front of my car. I've been running 315/35/17 BFG's DR on the back of my car for 3 years now and I wouldn't trade them for any other tire. They only last about 5k miles but who cares!!!
