Default benifits of bigger wheels

hi, i was wondering if there is actually a benifit from going bigger and wider on wheels BESIDES looks. example = 16x8 to 17x11 thanks

IMO, less sidewall flex....that's why I went from 17" to 18" anyway.

Goin with bigger rims means less sidewall on the tires, which will make the car handle better, but doesnt do much for traction !

Less stright line traction, wider tires in the front will slow you down when drag racing, another thing about wider tires is when driving on unlevel roads, it will dart to one side , nothing that uncontrolable, just gotta keeps hands on the wheel when I bad roads.
