Ecsta MX vs BF KDW vs Wide Oval
Anybody run any of these tires? I've narrowed it down to these three. I would just go ahead and get Nitto dr but I only have 9.5" rim in back and hear Nitto is narrower than others in same size, and I hardly ever run at the track anyway.

I've had the wide ovals for about a year and a half, and they've been pretty good. I got them on sale, but was looking at the gs-d3 and the kdw. I think the others are probably a better tire, but these have performed fine for daily use, and are sticky enough for my use straight and cornering. I'd consider buying them again, but the only other tire I've had on this car was stock. Depending on price/fitment, I'd probably still give the kdw2 and gsd3 a shot.

I heard yesterday from a tire shop that there are alot people buying the latest BFG (with the cool tread design) but are coming back and getting other tires they are very loud and the customers dont like them??
they sure look cool though!
I have a set of the KDW and have had pretty good luck.

i went with the bfgs.. they arent too noisy and they have good dry, great wet traction.. ive had kumhos in the past and they grip well but dont last long.. i would only worry about noise if you do a lot of highway driving.. i really dont care about it.. and around town i just hear my exhaust.

My last tire was the GS-D3, my current tire is the Wide Oval; here is what I think about them... (245/50/16)
The Goodyear's hold better in sweeping corners, have much better maximum grip, break traction more progressively, and have better wet traction.
The Wide Ovals might be a little better in transitions with minimally better turn in, but I’m not 100% sure on this because I got a more auto-x friendly alignment just a few hours before I got the Firestone's put on.
The Firestone's are feeling better the more miles I get on them (I’m at about 2k now), but I don't think I will be as satisfied with them as I was the Goodeyar's. I haven't driven in a real downpour yet, but I wasn't super impressed or terribly disappointed with their wet performance.
I might be a little biased because I have never been a fan of firestone, and I got them because I thought they would be the next best option (anyone that had my size gs-d3's in stock wanted well over $200 a tire). I have tried to be impartial in my judgments, just because I have been trying to determine the differences for my own benefit.
I don't have any experience with the KDW, but I put the wide ovals ahead of them on my shopping list because the BFG's weighed 2lbs more per tire than the Firestones.

This was my final list to choose from, though I was considering the SPTs and ASXs from Kumho, not the MXs. Here's my review of the Wide Ovals I ended up buying...

Of those choices, I think you'll be happiest with the Firestones, though you can't go wrong with the BFGs.
Good luck!

Wasn't at that power level when I ran the MX's.
I use the BFG KDW as my fronts now, and Nitto DR's as the rears for street use.
The MX lasted 12K miles...maybe.
