Default Powerball + Mother's Chrome Polish. Bling. Bling. Skeet. Skeet.

So I picked up a powerball the other day after debating for a while and went to work with some mother's chrome polish that I've had for a while and used by hand with decent results. I gotta say, my wheels look brand spankin' new now. This combo is amazing. I don't have any before pics, but keep in mind these are 3 year old wheels that have been daily driven and sit outside 24x7. I followed it all up with a nice coat of wax to make sure they stay this way...

Looks damn good.

Will that stuff with a powerball get any pitting out?

Ehh, it will alleviate some of the harsh looks of pitting. Your best bet for getting crap off of the wheel like that is some #0000 steel wool. My wheels only have very slight pitting in the corners, which is hard to see.

Looks great man!!! I think this might be what i need to do to my chrome z06 wheels cause they have very fine scratches that you barely can see but i'm very picky. Should this take the fine scratches outta my wheels?

If you work it enough it should. It's a polish after all, but I'm not certain as to how abrasive it is. If the scratches are anything remotely close to deep, then it may not work. Regardless, it will greatly help their appearance, even if it does not remove them. You might want to ask around to see if there are any more abrasive chrome polishes for those that have tried.

I heard that this doesnt work that well, but clearly it works REALLY well. Will it have the same results with polished wheels? What type of wax did you lay over the top of it?

I am using the mini powerball, I should have clarified. I put some mother's carnauba cleaner wax over it, nothing special, just something to protect it for a while. If I was wanting to be hardcore about protection, I would have put something that lasts a bit longer like meguiar's #26 paste.

Polished don't have a clearcoat, so you would have to use metal polish, not chrome polish.

You can get similar results, polished doesnt shine like chrome does (mine are polished), it has a slightly different shine to it, the guys with polished wheels know what I mean. Using the correct product you could get some good results.
