HELP, Q's about Bogarts
So, I have questions, naturally.
I have a 95 bird, and Im in the process of painting my new LS1 calipers and spindles. So, if I elect to get bogart wheels (skinnies up front and prolly 15x10 out back) Am I gonna have to grind anything?
I dont want to waste my time making my calipers pretty and install them only to find out I have to grind later.
I cant afford to get the rims now, otherwise I would just bolt it up and check it as I go. So, that isn't an option.
Also, if I go bogarts, do I need longer studs like with the prostars? I dont want to do that because my car is a street car first, race car second. I dont want to have to switch hubs as well as rims.
Also, about the rear LT1 brakes, do the bogarts clear them fine? I want to do 15 inch rims because I already have the skinny tires for up front, and a friend has some slicks for me for 15 inch rims. So, I can spend a little more on rims because rubber is free.
Also, about how much are we talkin here for prices? I know they custom build them when you order them, so what is it gonna cost?
Which style is gonna look the best on a red formy?? I have no clue, but I see alot of people saying those d10s or something like that look the best.
So, please help me out with any info you have!
~Thanks
Cody
(I already sent an email to bogart, but I wont hear from them until monday. I wanted to paint my kit this weekend)

You shouldn't have to modify the calipers, since Bogart makes their wheels to fit an F-Car. But there are no guarantees.
I recall a post where some one had to do something to their calipers . . . I hope I am not recalling incorrectly.
Steve with SMJ, will respond, but he is not here everyday.

Yes you will have to grind down the cooling fins on top of the caliper a bit so they won't rub. The Bogarts are excellent rims, very light and look fantastic. The grinding is very easy and should not take much time at all. Just grind a bit and test fit. Then you can paint your calipers if you like. i did install longer studs. The rears definately need them, the fronts only if your track requires.

hmm, steve just emailed me back and said there would be no grinding with my LS1 front brakes and LT1 rear brakes. What brakes are you running ping2day?
Yes, they are expensive, but damn with no effin around with crap to make them fit they really seem worth it.

I have the stock SS Calipers. I just had to shave a slight bit off of the cooling fins of the calipers. They just barely touched the 15 inch rims. Maybe the SS brakes are bigger, i'm not sure. The rims are definately worth it, you cannot go wrong with them. The weight savings is tremendous. I love these rims. Steve helped me out with everything also, fitment, tires, advise.

The rear for sure i will check the fronts, i cannot remember if i had to do the fronts also. Also i'm not sure if the SS model has bigger calipers as they come stock with 17 inch rims on the SS. Like i said it is no big deal, you just have to shave a bit where the rim rubs. Its easy.

For one thing, if you're running ls1 front/rear calipers you will not need longer studs for the rears to go on. SS's didn't come with larger brakes, you'll find the same brakes on a Z28, Trans-Am or Formula (WS6's too). As far as the grinding goes, the rears will fit without any problems, mine did anyways. There is a good possibility that you will have to "grind" your front calipers down a bit. I'm not talking about using a grinder, just a hand file or dremel with one of those sanding tips.
