Default What do I need to do to fit 12" wide wheels on the rear of my Camaro?

Sorry if this is a repost. I haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for when doing a search.

So what are my options here?

Edit: I'm thinking of widening my ZR1s. They're 17" x 9.5" up front and 17" x 11" out back. If I could add another inch to the set that would be awesome. Where can I have them widened? Any cons?

I think the 12" wide C6 Z06s would look pretty damn cool but I'm definitely open to any other suggestions.

And if I can go wider, wider is better

I don't know much about anything in relation to wheel sizes, offsets, etc., so please bare with me here guys. I've heard about "tubbing" but don't know how much it costs, whats involved, whether or not it's needed, etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

not sure what the BS and Offset is on the z06's but at the minimum you are going to need a minitub and possibly a narrowed rear to get them to fit properly.

you will need:

1. minitub installed
2. offset mounted lower control arms (moves them inward some, so tires won't hit them)
3. rolled fender lips
4. custom offset wheels or custom width rear axle (C6Z won't fit properly)

It isn't a cheap or easy solution, and I gotta ask why when guys can run 9s on a 275 wide tire.

A few around here with 12" wide rear wheels.

I did it and dont like it to much. I should of went with a 10.5 or 11.

You will have to do LCA (offset) Shortened rear and BFH for sure. I would tub it for that size wheel.
Take a look at my Fquick and you'll see pics of my car on the ground. I want to lower it and still I plan to shorten the rear 3 more inches + relocating the LCAs. It's a lot of work wider than 11".

Thanks. I'm already lowered. It sounds like maybe I should just stick with my 11" ZR1s. I'll take a look at your Fquick page right now.

The car is a shell so, it stands tall. I have koni and 2" drop springs, still sits that high. Again in the pics no motor, nothing. I'm going to keep the wheels but, a lot more work than I originally intended. I want it to look better than those pics.

how about 8's on a 345/30/18 ?
